Evian

Bichon Frisé · Female · Adult · 4 years

13-08-26 Evian is a sweet little lady who has come to us from a breeder. When she first arrived, she was very flighty and would grumble when approached out of fear. However, as she has spent more time with us, begun to trust the people around her, and settled into a routine, she has come on beautifully and has really let her sweet personality shine through. Evian is now starting to come out of her shell and is beginning to approach us on her own. She is becoming much easier to handle and is showing just how much she could thrive in a loving, patient home. She is a sweet little girl who simply needs the chance to build her confidence at her own pace. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ who understand that she needs time to settle in at her own pace. Evian will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home that she can rely on as she learns about life in a home. She will need patient adopters who understand that she has never experienced normal home life before and who will help her with house training, walking on a lead, and all the other basics. However, given the progress she has already made in such a short time, we don't think it will take Evian long to blossom into a wonderful companion in the right home. Evian has arrived with a fused hind leg. She has been assessed by our vet and this doesn't appear to be causing her any issues. She gets around well and shows no signs of pain or discomfort. She does walk with an abnormal gait, as she is not able to bend this leg, but this doesn't seem to bother her. Although she seems to cope fine now, we are unsure how this may effect her in the future. It is possible that she will always manage perfectly well but there is also the possibility in the future she may need further investigations, x-rays or to visit a specialist, which would not be covered by insurance. Evian has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Evian

What life with Evian looks like

Evian is a adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Evian, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Evian?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Evian on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Evian if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Evian already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Evian isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Evian and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
