Evie

Husky Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Evie is a sweet girl who enjoys playing with her soft toys and having a gentle game of tuggy. She likes to do zoomies in her garden and have a good sniff and plod about. She is instantly friendly with new people, enjoys a fuss, and she likes to give kisses! Evie prefers her walks in the countryside where there is plenty to sniff and explore. On first sight of seeing another dog, she can bark, and then once calm, she can follow on alongside and actually not be bothered by the other dog at all. Evie enjoys her treats nice and tasty, like chicken or meaty strips. She knows a few tricks such as sit, wait, down, and paw, however the motivation needs to be right for her to show you them – the more tastier the reward on offer the better! Evie will need to work on her name response and recall too. Fal in love with Evie the beautiful six-year-old Husky cross. She could share her home with upper secondary school aged children. She is looking to be the only dog in the home, and she will need a home without cats or small furries. Evie has no history around livestock. Evie adores human company and would love to find a home where someone is home with her for the most amount of time. Any time left alone will need to be built up gradually. Evie could cope with a reasonably busy home environment and would best suit quieter walks. She travels well in the car.

About Evie

What life with Evie looks like

Evie is a small adult husky dog waiting at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe in Ilfracombe.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Evie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Evie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Ilfracombe handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Evie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Evie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Ilfracombe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Evie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Evie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Ilfracombe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Evie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
