Adopt Fermin

Male · Adult · 4 years

Fermin was born in October 2021 and is currently still in Spain. When he was found on the street, he was in very poor condition. He could not move and was not eating anything. He was taken to the veterinary clinic, where he was supposed to be euthanized, but it was decided to wait a bit longer. Our partners took the poor tomcat home, cared for him lovingly, pampered him, and gave him a lot of love. With success: Fermin gradually improved and eventually made a full recovery. The handsome, lively tomcat plays without any problems; he is very affectionate and always seeks the company of humans. Unfortunately, his FeLV test came back positive, which means he can only move in with other FeLV-positive cats or be kept alone. However, his FIV test was negative. Fermin is already neutered. Upon arrival, he will be vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Who will give this FeLV-positive tomcat a chance at a life filled with love?

About Fermin

What life with Fermin looks like

Fermin is a adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fermin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fermin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fermin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fermin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fermin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fermin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fermin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
