Folti

Mixed Breed · Female

I am a little sunshine - say the Halleiner animal shelter dog sitters. Truly, truly - I am not big, but when I strut into a room - I fill it with joy and a certain air of having always been there. I originally came from Hungary, from a Messi household where I lived with three other four-legged friends and hardly ever got to go outside. My lady seemed unstable and apparently wasn't aware of her mental condition. I must admit, this did scratch at my psyche a bit, and although I am an absolutely loving and patient, calm and somewhat reserved girl at eight years old - I do need to relearn a few things. For example, that I can't pee in the house anymore, but must also do my little business outside. The former I manage quite well, but the latter - I still need a bit of patience. That's why I had to leave my two-legged family after just a few days - patience and empathy aren't for everyone! Still, everyone here is hopeful that I'll learn quickly and that they'll soon pull their hair out in anticipation. I walk nicely on a leash and get along with other dogs - no barking and snarling! Of course, I am vaccinated and microchipped, neutered, and now eagerly await my applicants fresh and cheerful.

About Folti

What life with Folti looks like

Folti is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Hallein in Hallein.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Folti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Folti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hallein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Folti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Folti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hallein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Folti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Folti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hallein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Folti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
