Forest

Mixed Breed · Male

Forest - a dog who finally wants to feel what home is like Forest is a year old and has already experienced a life that no dog should have to endure. He was taken in after being chained outside without even the simplest of shelters. He was emaciated, weak, and literally "flowed through his hands." He had no strength, no affection, and no sense of security.Despite all of this... he trusted a human. Today, Forest is a completely different dog. He is a charming, calm, and extremely sociable boy who loves closeness above all else. He loves to snuggle up to people and fall asleep in their arms - as if he wants to make up for everything he missed out on before. He is curious, but not a "crazy" type - he definitely values quiet moments and pets over intense play. He is very smart and learns quickly - especially if treats are involved. What should you know about him?– He can stay alone and behaves calmly,– He loves car rides and traveling,– He is not afraid of loud noises,– He is used to going for walks three times a day,– He walks well on a leash (you just have to make sure he doesn't eat anything he finds on the ground). He gets along with other animals if they are gentle and friendly. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and has all his documents.Forest doesn't need much - he needs a warm place, patience, and a person who will show him that he will always be safe.He really can love with his whole being. Now he is just waiting for someone to love him... Dziś Forest to zupełnie inny pies. On naprawdę potrafi kochać całym sobą. Teraz tylko czeka, aż ktoś pokocha jego… Forest mieszka w domu tymczasowym w Warszawie.Jeśli jesteś zainteresowany/-a jego adopcją, prosimy, wypełnij poniżej ankietę przedadopcyjną. About Forest

What life with Forest looks like

Forest is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Psa Karmela in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Forest, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Forest?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psa Karmela handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Forest on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Forest if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psa Karmela will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Forest already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Forest isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psa Karmela early rather than rehoming privately; they know Forest and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
