Friedrich

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Friedrich is a friendly and gentle male who enjoys human company. He enjoys being petted, is curious and interested, but not overly active. Friedrich is easy to handle and appreciates small treats. He is familiar with a harness and leash. At approximately 3 years old, a shoulder height of about 41 cm and around 17 kg, Friedrich is a medium-sized male. According to the caregiver, he is a purebred English Cocker Spaniel. He gets along well with other dogs and is friendly towards cats. Friedrich currently lives in a foster home with the animal rights activist Lavinia outside Zalau. However, his life was far from easy: Friedrich spent his whole life chained to his former owners. As he grew and was no longer the "cute little puppy", the children apparently lost interest in him. Lavinia had already known Friedrich, as she was asked to care for him during her owners' vacation periods. A few weeks ago, they asked her if she could take him in permanently. His family wanted to redesign their garden - and Friedrich was to make way for it. So Friedrich came to Lavinia and thus got his first chance at a different life. One in which he does not have to live on a chain, but can belong. We wish Friedrich loving people who want to give a friendly and people-oriented dog the home he never had before. He already brings many good qualities and seems ready to find his place with his own people. What he needs now is someone who does not see him as an obstacle, but as what he is: a lovable dog who still has his whole life ahead of him. Friedrich travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and de-fleaed and with his own EU pet passport. He is only placed after a positive pre-check and for a deposit. Many thanks to the H family for your sponsorship. Thanks to you, Friedrich has a strong name and an identity. Status: 07.09.2026 Further information on the pre-check and deposit

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Friedrich

What life with Friedrich looks like

Friedrich is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Friedrich, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Friedrich?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Friedrich on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Friedrich if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Friedrich already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Friedrich isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Friedrich and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
