Hi, I am Frits and I am 9 years old. I was born on October 3rd, which I'm sure the Leiden residents will find delightful. Six years ago, I was in the animal shelter once before and made quite an impression: I would sometimes hang around someone's legs. I call that "coming out of the woodwork," and a lot happened back then; I was rather prickly. All those cats in one room together, it's not very fun, in my opinion. I had found a very nice home where I felt comfortable and was loved by the owner. Unfortunately, he passed away, and I am now back in the animal shelter. When I came back, I asked for a private suite, and fortunately, I got it. The staff now also sees that I am much easier to handle; I just feel much more relaxed. Hanging around legs is no longer necessary, and now I give lots of head rubs. I am still very fond of playing and feel as fit as ever. I find it very cozy to be near the boss and contribute to a lot of coziness. I am not a cuddly cat, and visitors should not come to my body; I will come out for myself. Even the vet will not be welcomed with open arms (or maybe, it depends on how you look at it). That man amputated my penis in the past. Okay, I did have serious bladder issues that were helped by that, but still. For that, I still get special bladder diet food. No problem, I like it!

Hoi, ik ben Frits en ik ben 9 jaar oud. Ik ben op 3 oktober jarig, dat moeten de Leidenaren onder ons toch mooi vinden. Zes jaar geleden was ik al eens in het asiel en toen heb ik wel indruk gemaakt: ik hing af en toe bij iemand in de benen. Ik noem dat voor mezelf opkomen en er gebeurde ook zoveel, ik was aardig overprikkeld. Al die katten samen in één kamer, heel leuk is dat niet hoor als je het mij vraagt. Ik had toen toch een heel fijn thuis gevonden, waar ik me goed voelde en ook lief ben geworden voor de eigenaar. Helaas is hij overleden en verblijf ik nu weer in het asiel. Bij terugkomst hier heb ik wel gevraagd om een privé-suite en gelukkig kreeg ik die ook. Het personeel ziet nu ook wel dat ik een stuk makkelijker ben, ik voel me gewoon veel relaxter. Dan is in benen hangen ook niet nodig en nu geef ik vooral veel kopjes aan benen. Verder ben ik dol op spelen en voel me nog hartstikke fit. Ik vind het heel gezellig om bij de baas in de buurt te zijn en zorg voor een hoop gezelligheid. Een echte knuffelkat ben ik niet en ook bezoek moet niet aan mijn lijf komen, dan kom ik nog wel voor mezelf op. Ook de dierenarts zal ik niet met open armen ontvangen (of wel, het is maar hoe je het bekijkt). Die man heeft in het verleden mijn penis geamputeerd. Okay, ik had toen wel ernstige blaasklachten die daardoor zijn verholpen, maar toch. Hiervoor krijg ik trouwens nog steeds wel speciaal blaasdieetvoeding. Geen probleem, lust ik!
