Fruity

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Fruity is a lovely girl who came into our care as a stray, along with her three kittens. She has been a wonderful mum and has lovingly raised her babies in foster, and now that they are ready to find homes of their own, it’s Fruity’s turn to find a special family to call her own. Fruity has a sweet and gentle temperament and is a lovely girl to have around. As she was originally found as a stray, we feel she would be happiest in a home where she has safe outdoor access to explore and enjoy. We don’t yet know how Fruity will feel about living alongside other cats, dogs or children, so this would need to be taken on an individual basis. However, given her lovely nature, we feel she may be able to live happily alongside them with calm, patient and gradual introductions. After everything Fruity has done for her kittens, we’d love to see her settled into a loving home where she can finally be the one getting all the attention and care she deserves. Could you be the special family Fruity has been waiting for? 🍓❤️

About Fruity

What life with Fruity looks like

Fruity is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fruity, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fruity?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fruity on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fruity if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fruity already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fruity isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fruity and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
