Hammer

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hammer is a black American Staffordshire Terrier with white markings - a dog in the TTB type, which means he has a lot of energy, strength and character and does not always realize his own strength - that's why we are looking for a conscious and responsible owner who knows what it means to live with a dog of this type. He handles the leash very well - he doesn't pull and can walk calmly by the side of a human. He is a contact dog towards humans, who likes to establish a relationship and enjoys spending time together. He can encourage a person to have fun together. As befits a representative of his breed, Hammer loves playing with tug-of-war toys. However, Hammer is not a dog for everyone. He needs a person who can lead a strong, energetic dog wisely and provide him with the right amount of exercise, play and clear rules. Conscious adoption is the basis here. Hammer's attitude towards children and other animals is currently unknown, so the future owner should take this into account and approach the topic responsibly. Hammer was born in 2019, but he still wants to go for walks, play, tug and have adventures together. He has been living in the shelter since mid-June 2026, weighs 28 kg.

Sam potrafi zachęcać człowieka do wspólnego szaleństwa. Świadoma adopcja to tutaj podstawa.

About Hammer

What life with Hammer looks like

Hammer is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hammer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hammer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hammer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hammer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hammer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hammer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hammer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
