Hannes

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Hannes has found a home! His story: Hannes was on the way with two brothers and his mother in the mountains. There was little to eat there, and his mother had a hard time providing for herself and her puppies. We were able to secure Hannes and his brother Jari. His mother and the third brother are still on the way. However, we are doing our best to bring both of them to safety. Hannes is a quiet and reserved puppy and not a daredevil. But when in contact with people, he blossoms and loves to be stroked and cuddled. With other dogs, Hannes gets along well. At the moment, Hannes is very unhappy because his brother Jari had to go to the clinic for treatment and was left alone, not knowing what was happening. That's why it would be important for Hannes to escape the daily stress at the shelter. Currently, Hannes is 40 cm in size and weighs 7 kg. He is expected to grow to a medium to large size. He has incredibly soft, cuddly fur in various shades of color. Visually, it can be assumed that Hannes is a Herdenschutz-Mix. These dogs are independent thinkers who make their own decisions. Clear training and guidance are necessary here. We wish for Hannes people who already have experience with these breeds or are willing to learn about them. Hannes is still small and young and still needs to learn the ABCs of being a dog. Whether house training, leash manners, or car rides. All things that Hannes still needs to learn. And when puberty then comes along, everything seems to be forgotten and the world turns upside down. We therefore wish for people who can offer Hannes a loving but also clear upbringing. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a valuable support. Because joint training strengthens the bond, provides safety for rehoming, and helps you as a team to grow together. Hannes travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to his new home. After a positive Hannes is your heart dog? Then contact us. A foster home would also be a valuable opportunity for the cute puppy. A big thank you also goes to you, dear Anika. Thanks to you, Hannes has the chance for a happy future. As of: 18.04.

Stand: 18.04.2026

About Hannes

What life with Hannes looks like

Hannes is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hannes, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hannes?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hannes on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hannes if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hannes already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hannes isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hannes and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
