adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Happy has found her forever home! Her story: Happy is a charming mixed-breed female dog, who at about 7 years old, eagerly awaits the chance to find her happily ever after – a home where she will be loved and cared for forever. Anyone who meets the gentle and cheerful Happy will immediately sense how much love she has to give. Her warm and open nature will captivate you at first glance, as she thoroughly enjoys cuddles and affection. Despite her eventful past, in which she was rescued from the public animal shelter in Zalău, Happy has preserved her loving and friendly personality. In the shelter, she shows herself as a trusting female dog who always seeks the company of humans and takes great joy in being part of a community. With her laid-back nature, Happy is not an overly active dog. She prefers quiet walks and enjoys exploring the world at your pace. Her great passion is for treats – she is very food-motivated, which makes her perfect for small training exercises. On the leash, she already behaves impeccably and makes a pleasant companion. In her kennel, Happy showed herself to be confident around other dogs, but still social and compatible. Her behavior around cats has not yet been tested. At a shoulder height of about 62 cm and weighing 35 kg, Happy is a sturdy female dog who is still gentle and loving with her people. She is looking for a quiet home where she will receive the affection and attention she so deserves. With patience and love, she will integrate well into her new family and show how much joy life with her can bring. Happy has a lot of love to give and is ready to be loyal and grateful by your side. Happy is microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give this loving female dog her forever home? Happy eagerly awaits her people! Many thanks Sue S.! You gave Happy her beautiful name! Date: 19.09.

About Happy

What life with Happy looks like

Happy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Happy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Happy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Happy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Happy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Happy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Happy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Happy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
