Haze &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

8 years now live Haze in the animal shelter. As a puppy, he entered the world of bars and concrete bars and has not been able to discover much more. For a short time, he was "adopted" in Spain (which means that people picked him up from the animal shelter, only to rehome him a few days later). Haze wandered through the countryside for weeks, got injured, and tore up all his paws, only to end up back in the kennel. Now, he waits with the animal protectors of El Buen Amigo for someone to see him and give him a real home – and most importantly, a home where he will be loved. Haze is a charming, very even-tempered dog who could be rehomed to any stable, humorous family without any problems, but he is an American Staffordshire, and his chances of finding a loving home have dropped to zero. Unreasonable laws make it impossible for Haze to travel to Germany. Haze needs people in a country where a handsome package of strength is judged not by its nose but by its character. The quiet, very cuddly little guy actually doesn't ask much of his new owners. Haze is nothing more than a medium-sized, athletic dog who curiously and enthusiastically explores his environment, charms with his wonderful bully smile, and always greets strangers with great friendliness. Cuddles and snuggles are never given enough and are always met with great enthusiasm. The only thing that doesn't excite Haze is cats, and he definitely doesn't want to share his couch with a representative of the house tiger faction. We can only say that it is a shame for every family that a friendly world-conquering Haze is denied to them through long-disproven laws. That's why we ask you not to click away silently but to consider whether you have friends abroad who might have room for our cuddly back. Maybe sharing Haze on social media can also help. Fight with us for a world where race (for four-legged and two-legged beings) no longer plays a role. There are many ways to get involved, so start today! Dogs like Bimba will thank you for it!.

DE·Show original

About Haze &#8211

What life with Haze &#8211 looks like

Haze &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Haze &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Haze &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Haze &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Haze &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Haze &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Haze &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Haze &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
