Heath and Alexander

Mixed Breed · Male

STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY Meet Heath & Alexander Sometimes two cats find each other, and what starts as a friendship becomes something really special. That’s exactly what has happened with Heath and Alexander. After being rehomed together, these two handsome boys have formed a beautiful bond and, sadly, have now returned into our care through no fault of their own or their previous family. ❤️ Both boys originally arrived with our large intake of 62 cats, and they’ve each got their own wonderful personalities. Heath is our cheeky, playful boy with SO much personality! He absolutely loves playing with his feline friends and his toys, and gets especially excited whenever there’s catnip involved. When the zoomies kick in, he becomes quite the little chatterbox and will happily let you know all about it! 😂 He also loves his fuss and attention and is definitely a big foodie, so there are plenty of ways to win this handsome lad over. Alexander is the more easy-going, relaxed boy of the pair. He absolutely loves people and is always happy to enjoy some fuss and attention. When he's not soaking up affection, you'll usually find him playing with his favourite toys, rolling around in catnip or eagerly waiting for his next meal. He's certainly a fan of his grub! 🥰 But together, these two really are something special. They love to play together, zoom around after each other and generally get up to mischief, before eventually tiring themselves out and curling up together for a cosy nap. 🥹 There’s something so lovely about seeing them seek each other out, whether they’re having a mad five minutes or simply snuggled up together in a bed. ❤️ Having formed such a strong bond since being rehomed together, Heath and Alexander must find their forever home together. They’re a lovely pair with plenty of personality, and we’d love to see them settle into a home where they can continue to grow, play and enjoy life side by side. Heath & Alexander are looking for a strictly indoor-only home, where they can enjoy all the love, comfort and companionship they deserve. Could you be the forever home these two handsome boys have been waiting for? 🏡❤️

About Heath and Alexander

What life with Heath and Alexander looks like

Heath and Alexander is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Heath and Alexander, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Heath and Alexander?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Heath and Alexander on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Heath and Alexander if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Heath and Alexander already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Heath and Alexander isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Heath and Alexander and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
