HUDSON

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Vermittlungshilfe for HUDSON Reluctantly, I must surrender my beloved dog Hudson. Due to my upcoming shift at the hospital, it is unfortunately no longer possible for me to give him the time, attention, and stability he needs. An animal shelter is not an option for me – that’s why I urgently seek a suitable, permanent home for him. Hudson is a mixed breed – his mother was a French Bulldog, his father a Staffordshire Terrier. He was born on April 25, 2021. He is an unneutered male dog with a very affectionate nature. He loves to cuddle and seeks the proximity of his primary caregiver – he is clingy and trusting. However, Hudson is also a very sensitive dog who cannot handle stress and hectic situations well. In overstimulating situations, he starts to harm himself by biting his leg and drooling heavily. This behavior is a sign of his overstimulation – I have tried many things, but unfortunately, I cannot help him long-term. Therefore, a quiet, stable, and structured environment is crucial. Additionally, Hudson is not compatible with other animals – neither with dogs nor with cats. Therefore, no other animal should live in the new home. Hudson is also finicky about his food – he doesn’t need special medical food, but he can only tolerate a certain type, which requires a certain level of financial readiness. What Hudson needs: • A quiet home without children • No other animals in the household • People with dog experience who bring patience and understanding for sensitive dogs • Plenty of space and exercise, ideally a house with a garden • Time, attention, and clear structures • No sensory overload, but a quiet, reliable environment He is a small whirlwind of energy – he loves movement, needs stimulation, and mental stimulation. In the right hands, Hudson will be an incredibly loyal, well-adjusted, and lovable companion. I love Hudson more than anything. This decision is incredibly hard for me, but I know it’s best for him. I wish him a home that finally gives him the security, stability, and love he so desperately needs. If you have the right breed experience and HUDSON can offer a permanent place, please contact me at HUDSON, which currently lives in the Heppenheim area.

About HUDSON

What life with HUDSON looks like

HUDSON is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald in Wald-Michelbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting HUDSON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about HUDSON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw HUDSON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt HUDSON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is HUDSON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if HUDSON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know HUDSON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
