Black dogs have a whole range of scientifically tested advantages: Black dogs give off more warmth than white dogs, making them real energy-saving wonders in winter, especially if you snuggle up to them. They are also easier to spot in the snow and do not appear as dirty as quickly. On black clothing, their hair is less noticeable—a real advantage when thinking about visitors in my predominantly light-colored household who might make the mistake of settling down on my sofa in black pants! Additionally, a black dog can make you appear slimmer and match any outfit. Now, setting that aside: it is a fact that black dogs have significantly worse chances of being adopted (this is indeed solid statistics), although there is no real reason to prefer a light-colored dog over a black one. Our newest addition, Ines, has the advantage of being of hand-friendly size, which might catch the eye of one or two more potential adopters than a larger, black-furred representative. Ines was reported to us by a Spanish teacher who noticed the strikingly beautiful female dog wandering near a school for several days. After it became clear that no one showed any interest in the bold and friendly canine lady, the animal welfare workers of ARCA Sevilla took her into their care. From the start, Ines showed herself to be an extremely friendly, lively, and affectionate girl. She enjoys all sorts of affection and is overjoyed when someone takes the time for her. She is also absolutely open to her four-legged roommates and would never start a fight. Ball games, wild chases, cuddling—Ines is up for everything and will surely be an absolutely wonderful companion! Here’s your chance: If you want a loyal companion for all life’s moments, one who shares joyful moments with you and licks your tears lovingly from your cheeks, then you are spot-on with Ines. So, what are you waiting for?

About Ines

What life with Ines looks like

Ines is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ines, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ines?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ines on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ines if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ines already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ines isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ines and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
