Jager

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Jager - will love you with all his heart Status: for adoption Jager is a dog who loves his people so much that sometimes he doesn't know what to do with that love. When he gets to know you, he will stick to you completely - literally. He will snuggle up, climb onto your lap, put his head on your leg, sleep next to you and wake up with his nose in your arm. Jager is not just looking for a person - he is looking for his personal person. Someone he can guard, cuddle, amuse, and move every day, from morning to night. He is a wonderful companion - gentle, funny, affectionate. He knows basic commands, plays with toys by himself, understands the command "to your place," and his life goal is to be close. In the house he no longer argues so fiercely - he calms down faster and can go to his place. It's clear that his temporary mom and dad are putting a lot of heart and work into him, and he is learning manners and opening up beautifully. Guests in the house? For Jager it means many emotions - jumping, barking, excitement. After fifteen minutes he starts getting to know, and after a walk together, they can lie down together. Jager is not afraid of strangers, he just needs time to check if it's really not an invasion. It's definitely a matter of working through, but he is making progress. Being left alone? It used to require training, today Jager is getting better at handling it - he can now stay alone at home and rest without panic. It's a big success and a sign that his work with a human is yielding great results. On walks - full speed ahead. He looks around, sniffs, learns how to relax. He loves walks in quiet areas, and the world is mega exciting for him. With other dogs he was sometimes distrustful, but recently instead of getting into conflicts, he has been seeking support from his caregiver - it's a big step forward! Jager has had and still has his dog friends with whom he gets along well. He lives peacefully with Florka, approaches for play, although sometimes he can be pushy - but he is learning to control his emotions better. Jager needs a caregiver who is aware of dog emotions, who will meet his needs and take care of him as required. We are not looking for an "ideal" home for him - we are looking for a home that knows that love is also work, patience and consistency. Jager is not a difficult case - he just feels very strongly. And when he loves, he does so with full dedication. He will best find himself in a home without small children or with older children who can respect the dog's boundaries. —- DOG PROFILE —- 🧮 Year of birth: 12/09/2022 🚻 Gender: male 🐾 Size: medium - 20kg 🏀 Activity: medium ❤️ spayed: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes ✅ dog is under the care of the Tricity branch of the Foundation for Puppies Judyta ✅ dog is currently in a foster home in the Tricity area ✅ Adoption requirement: filling out the questionnaire, pre-adoption visit and signing the adoption agreement ✅ LINK TO QUESTIONNAIRE:

Zostawanie samemu?

About Jager

What life with Jager looks like

Jager is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jager, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jager?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jager on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jager if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jager already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jager isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jager and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
