JĘDRUŚ

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Born in 2022, JĘDRUŚ is a dog who badly withstands being in an animal shelter. His life has turned upside down - everything he knew and loved suddenly disappeared. This change has been especially difficult for him and to this day he has not managed to come to terms with it. JĘDRUŚ needs time to trust new people. He does not greet everyone with joy, he does not wag his tail immediately - but it is because his heart was once broken. He is cautious in his relationships with people, especially at first. He does not show warmth immediately, but when he feels safe and builds a bond, he reveals his true face - gentle, affectionate, and faithful. JĘDRUŚ is a delicate, although very lost dog. He currently trusts one employee of the animal shelter, with whom he spends time in the kennel, goes for walks, and even visits the veterinarian. Their relationship was built over many weeks - step by step, without rushing, with great patience and empathy. Now JĘDRUŚ repays this with loyalty and gratitude. Although he opens up slowly, he is getting better at interacting with other people. He has already had his first walks with a larger group of people, which is a huge progress. He gets along well with other dogs - he knows them, accepts them, and can function in their company. On walks, he behaves perfectly - he walks calmly, does not pull, and does not react to passersby or cyclists. He also has his small joys - he loves balls and sticks, and his favorite yellow ball works on him like a calming medicine. He never parts with it, it gives him a sense of security and diverts his attention from the difficult reality. In the shelter's kennel, JĘDRUŚ loves affection - petting and gentle scratching are a moment of relief for him. This is a dog who dreams of a quiet home, a patient caregiver, and a second chance. If you have a heart that can wait, if you know that the most beautiful relationships require work - JĘDRUŚ will be your loyal friend. He does not give love freely (with his paws) - he builds it brick by brick, until it becomes something lasting and invaluable.

About JĘDRUŚ

What life with JĘDRUŚ looks like

JĘDRUŚ is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting JĘDRUŚ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JĘDRUŚ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JĘDRUŚ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JĘDRUŚ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is JĘDRUŚ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JĘDRUŚ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know JĘDRUŚ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
