Jenny

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Mixed-breed Jenny—a truly special dog—is looking for her people. Currently, Jenny is waiting for her forever home at a private dog boarding facility in Spain. This is a real stroke of luck for her, as life in the shelter had simply become too stressful for her in the long run. The sweet mixed-breed pup was found on the street and came to the shelter back in October 2025. Today, we know much more about her—and everything we’ve learned paints the picture of an exceptionally pleasant companion. Jenny is a calm, friendly, and highly people-oriented dog. She loves being close to her trusted humans, yet she also knows how to relax beautifully and can entertain herself when needed. She doesn’t have to be constantly the center of attention; instead, she strikes a lovely balance between affectionate devotion and independence. She’s also remarkably social and easygoing around other dogs. She thoroughly enjoys walks, travels comfortably in the car, and orients herself outdoors very closely to her people. Her trainer describes her as a fantastic dog who is attentive, reliably responds to commands, and is wonderfully easy to train. Particularly impressive is her adaptability. Jenny handles new environments, varying daily routines, and changing situations with a composure that you don’t find in every dog. She appears balanced, intelligent, and attentive, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who gets to know her. Jenny suffers from Addison’s disease. With the right treatment, this condition can usually be well-managed. She needs her daily medication and regular veterinary check-ups, but otherwise leads a completely normal and joyful dog life. For us, this isn’t a reason to overlook her—rather, it’s just one aspect that her future family should be aware of and responsibly support. Of course, adopting a rescue dog like Jenny also comes with responsibility. Even though she already has many wonderful qualities, she needs people who can provide her with security and accompany her through life long-term. Jenny brings so much of what you could hope for in a companion: she’s friendly, social, adaptable, smart, and delightful in everyday life. Now, all she really needs is the most important thing—people who can finally give her the home she’s been waiting for so long. Click here for Jenny’s video. Click here for Video 2.

Jenny leidet an Morbus Addison.

About Jenny

What life with Jenny looks like

Jenny is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
