👉 Back Jonathan- waits at the Hungarian animal shelter - Jonathan and Luna seek a loving home 🐾❤️Jonathan and Luna are two charming puppies who, despite their young age, already had a not-so-easy start in life. The two were found by a kind woman in a village. She took them in and cared for them with much love and care until a spot opened up at our shelter. Thanks to this good care, the two developed well and are now ready to find their own families. Both puppies are microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. They are full of life and have their whole lives ahead of them.Luna is a gentle, more reserved female dog. New situations and unknown people make her a bit unsure at first. She observes carefully before she dares to take the first step. Those who give her the time she needs will witness how she becomes braver and more trusting day by day. With patience, loving guidance, and positive experiences, Luna will develop into a wonderful companion.Jonathan is the exact opposite. He approaches the world curiously and openly, wanting to discover and explore everything. Nothing seems to escape his notice, and with great joy, he investigates his surroundings. He is an exceptionally friendly and people-oriented little guy who enjoys the company of his people and wants to be there. Like all puppies, Jonathan and Luna are at the very beginning of their lives. They must learn the dog basics: house training, walking on a leash, being alone, various environmental stimuli, and much more. Puppies mean joy, laughter, and many unforgettable moments, but also responsibility, time, and patience. They need people who are willing to raise them with love, give them security, and accompany them on their journey into adulthood. For Jonathan and Luna, we wish for families or individuals who would like to give them a permanent home – a home where they are loved, belong, and can grow up as full-fledged family members. People who are willing to accompany them through the beautiful, sometimes challenging phases of growing up and show them the world.Whoever gives Jonathan or Luna this chance will receive a loyal friend for life by their side.

About Jonathan T

What life with Jonathan T looks like

Jonathan T is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonathan T, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonathan T?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonathan T on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonathan T if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jonathan T already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonathan T isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonathan T and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
