adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Joy has found her home! Her story: Joy is a small female puppy, just about 1.5 months old, standing at her current shoulder height of around 20 cm and weighing about 3 kg. She is still a delicate little puppy girl, but will certainly grow a bit more. Her soft fur, the pretty dark fur color with light markings, and the fine white marking on her face give her a particularly cute look. To that, her small, still pink-spotted nose adds an extra charming touch to her appearance. Visually, it can already be guessed that different breeds could be mixed into Joy. Character-wise, Joy shows herself as a very sweet and lovable puppy. She appears open, friendly, and age-appropriate curious about everything happening around her. Like any puppy, Joy also wants to learn many things and discover the world step by step – preferably together with her future people, who will lovingly accompany her. She gets along well with other dogs and shows herself to be social. As she is still so young, she will be able to adapt to many new situations with the right guidance and loving upbringing. Her future family should be aware that a puppy needs time, patience, and a loving, consistent upbringing to develop into a balanced and secure companion. A positively working dog training class can support her and her people on this path – also during puberty, when young dogs often question what they have learned. Joy is now waiting to be discovered by her own family. For her, we wish people who are ready to accompany a puppy through its growth, give her security, and patiently teach her everything a dog needs for a happy life by their side. Is Joy exactly the right one for you? She travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Neutered, she is still not at her young age. Of course, she brings her EU pet passport with her for her travel arrangements. After a positive Also, a foster home would be a wonderful start for a new life for her. Thank you, Stephie! You gave Joy her name and thus a lot of joy. As of 11.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Danke an Stephie! Stand: 11.03.2026

About Joy

What life with Joy looks like

Joy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
