The ca. 2012-born twin goat-hare zipped up with Emily and Kleo to the Animal Life Farm on August 14, 2014. The rabbits were rescued from the association "Hopeful Hands for Animals e.V." from poor husbandry in too small cages. Luna was very curious and friendly and, surprisingly for a flighty animal, enjoyed being stroked. Fresh food seemed unknown to Luna. She would sniff at her food critically but wouldn't eat it. With time, however, she particularly loved tomatoes, cucumbers, bananas, and dandelions. Luna passed away in the morning of December 31, 2017. A few weeks before, she had recovered well from a serious eye operation where her right eye was removed. She had eaten, was lively, and fit. During the morning feeding on December 31, she lay on her side and fell into a kind of coma. I laid Luna on a blanket and stayed with her. After a short time, she peacefully fell asleep forever. Her faithful companion Willi sat by her the entire time. We wish with all our hearts that Luna, wherever she may be now, is well and enjoys her new life to the fullest.

Die ca. 2012 geborene Widder-Häsin zog am 14.08.2014 zusammen mit Emily und Kleo auf den Tierlebenshof. Die Kaninchen wurden vom Verein „Hoffnungsvolle Hände für Tiere e.V.“ aus schlechter Haltung in viel zu kleinen Käfigen gerettet. Luna war sehr neugierig und zutraulich und ließ sich – eigentlich für ein Fluchttier untypisch – gerne kraulen. Frischfutter schien Luna nicht zu kennen. Kritisch beschnupperte sie ihr Futter, wollte es aber nicht essen. Mit der Weile aber liebte sie besonders Tomaten, Gurken, Bananen und Löwenzahn. Luna verstarb am Morgen des 31.12.2017. Ein paar Wochen vorher hatte sie sich von einer schweren Augenoperation, bei der ihr das rechte Auge entfernt wurde, gut erholt. Sie hat gegessen, war munter und fit. Bei der Morgenfütterung am 31.12. legte sie sich auf die Seite und fiel in eine Art Koma. Ich legte Luna auf eine Decke und blieb bei ihr. Nach kurzer Zeit schlief sie friedlich für immer ein. Ihr treuer Gefährte Willi saß die ganze Zeit neben ihr. Wir wünschen uns so sehr, dass es Luna, wo immer sie auch jetzt sein mag, gut geht und sie ihr anderes Leben in vollen Zügen genießt.
