How do I contact the shelter about Karmel?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karmel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Karmel if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Karmel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Karmel isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karmel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Karmel

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

Karmel is a young, charming dog who came to our shelter on an emergency basis. Initially, he is a bit shy and approaches new people and situations cautiously. He needs a moment to feel safe and convince himself that a human can be someone good. However, once he gets some time, peace, and patience, he slowly opens his heart. With each subsequent meeting, he becomes more willing to establish contact, seek closeness, and show what he really is - gentle, loving, and longing for care. Karmel doesn't need anything forced. He needs a person who will allow him to trust at his own pace, surround him with peace, and show him that he can now be safe. We believe that someone is waiting for him somewhere who will look into his shy eyes and say, "It's okay, Karmel. You have a home now." Karmel is waiting for his chance at a real, loving life. ** Karmel and Pralinka - together is better! Karmel and Pralinka are canine friends who are very close to each other. Their bond is special to us, so we wholeheartedly want to find them a loving home together. We dream of them starting a new life together - by the side of a family that will love them both. DON'T BUY - ADOPT! A DOG WHO ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS COVERED BY A 14-DAY QUARANTINE. If he is not picked up by the owner during this time, the dog will be: vaccinated, chipped, neutered, and we will look for a new caregiver. The condition for adoption is to fill out the questionnaire available on our website, agree to a pre/post-adoption visit, and sign an adoption contract. Imię: Karmel Rasa: Mix Ur.: 2024 Płeć: Samiec Wielkość: średni Waga: 15,5 kg Karmel to młody, uroczy piesek, który trafił do naszego schroniska interwencyjnie. Początkowo jest odrobinę nieśmiały i ostrożnie podchodzi do nowych osób oraz sytuacji. Potrzebuje chwili, aby poczuć się bezpiecznie i przekonać, że człowiek może być kimś dobrym. Kiedy jednak dostanie trochę czasu, spokoju i cierpliwości, zaczyna powoli otwierać swoje serduszko. ** Karmel i Pralinka – razem raźniej! About Karmel

What life with Karmel looks like

Karmel is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
