adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! If you're looking for a loving and cuddly companion, you're at the right address with Khary. Khary was rescued from the public shelter where animals are still being euthanized today. However, it seems he once had a family. He knows a few commands and also walks well on a leash. Outdoors, he moves calmly without any fuss or insecurity. Khary appears balanced and relaxed. How he ended up at the shelter, we don't know. Whoever meets Khary will realize this beautiful male dog is pure love and devotion. He wants to be liked and loved and gives it back in abundance. The staff at the shelter describe him as incredibly cuddly – he immediately seeks contact, gently licks hands, and enjoys every moment of attention. Although he likely experienced quite a bit in his past, he still has a lot to learn and must adjust to his new family. Khary has beautiful sandy-furred cuddly fur and loyal hazel eyes that gleam golden when he receives some attention. He stands at 65 cm and weighs 34 kg. With his cuddly nature, the "Combat Cuddler" has the perfect size for extensive cuddling. The still young Khary, at just under two years old, would probably also enjoy the occasional visit to a positively working dog training class. He is compatible with other dogs. How he gets along with cats has not yet been tested. Khary has a shortened tail and is therefore not allowed to enter Switzerland. If Khary is to fill your home with joy and love soon, please contact us. And if you have the capacity for a foster home, that would also be an incredibly great opportunity for the dear guy to escape the shelter routine. Khary's luggage is packed, and he's waiting only for his people. Thank you, dear Peggy W., for this beautiful and fitting name. Khary means noble and royal. Both definitely apply to the handsome male dog with the lion's mane. As of 21.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 21.05.2026

About Khary

What life with Khary looks like

Khary is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Khary, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Khary?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Khary on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Khary if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Khary already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Khary isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Khary and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
