Kisha

Domestic Shorthair · Female

Kisha is a female cat who loves cuddles, loves play and uses a lot of body language to express what she wants. Kisha is being adopted as an outdoor cat and needs access to good and safe outdoor possibilities. She best suits a home with older, calm children or without children, and preferably without other pets so that she can have all the attention. Hello. My name is Kisha, or Ki-Ki, which is also how I am called. I am a cuddly female cat who loves cuddles. I often visit you for cuddles, but I also love being visited. Belly rubs are great, especially if you have your arm between my legs so I can squeeze you while you rub my belly. When I get used to my people, it's very easy to tell when I want a belly rub - then I lie down and roll onto my back to show you my nice, soft belly. I can be carried a bit, but I'm not very fond of it. To pass the time, of course cuddles are important, but I'm also very playful and love anything that moves. Especially small balls are very fun, but also small toys that I can throw around with my paws. If you have a tunnel, I'm all over it, or if you have some small and light mats, because then I can slide on them; that's fun! If you play with a laser spot, I'm in heaven! Otherwise, I really enjoy watching from the window, both at people and animals. I am a safe and good cat, but some things are still a bit strange. I spend some time getting comfortable around new people, and if you have visitors, I will probably retreat to places where I feel safe. Shelter spots are very important for me, so when people greet me, it's nice that I have the opportunity to retreat. In the foster home, one of my spots is under the clothes dryer in the bathroom; there it is both warm and quiet. I am also a bit skeptical about loud noises, such as vacuum cleaners or sudden sounds, and I am quite shy of everything new. I have a lot of body language; my fur waves over my back, my ears are pulled slightly backward, etc., so it's relatively easy to see whether I feel safe or not.

About Kisha

What life with Kisha looks like

Kisha is a small adult domestic shorthair cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo in Oslo.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Needs outdoor access, requires safe hiding spots, sensitive to loud noises

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kisha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kisha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kisha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kisha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kisha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kisha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kisha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
