adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Latoya has found a home! Her story: Abandoned as small puppy babies and just in time rescued from the public shelter… was the start of a new life. Latoya and her brother Schnauzbert are searching for their great happiness – their own home! With just two months old, Latoya and Schnauzbert were found on the farm of the public animal shelter in Zalau and rescued from the shelter by our volunteer Heni. Now they live in our private shelter, but this is not a permanent place for such young puppy children who need safety and a well-protected home. Latoya is currently around 3 months old, has a body height of around 30 cm, and weighs about 5 kg. Latoya is a very sweet puppy and shows typical puppy behavior. She is very curious, friendly, she loves to play and explore everything. She gets along well with the other puppies and she loves treats. Latoya is very happy about any kind of affection and cuddles, which are not given in the same measure as Latoya needs and deserves in her young puppy life. For Latoya, we wish a loving family that meets her with much love and empathy and is aware that Latoya does not yet know life in a family. The young puppy must first learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead. Here she needs people who approach with much love and patience, possibly also attend positive dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps with much patience and great joy in the shared learning. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words for the sweet little mouse. During puberty, she will surely test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Latoya will definitely be a great partner in life. The sweet mouse is always ready to discover new things and is already looking forward to many adventures with her new family. Her new primary caregiver will surely quickly realize what a gain Latoya is for the family. Latoya is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be fostered for the delicate mouse! We would be very happy to have a foster home for the little one. Spontaneously in love or a loving spot for care – then get in touch quickly! Many thanks Silvie S.! Latoya owes her identity to you! As of: 19.05.

Vielen Dank Silvie S.! Dir hat Latoya ihre Identität zu verdanken! Stand: 19.05.2024

About Latoya

What life with Latoya looks like

Latoya is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Latoya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Latoya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Latoya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Latoya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Latoya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Latoya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Latoya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
