Adopt Lilli

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Lilli is looking for a home together with Laku the cat. Lilli is a female gray tabby longhaired cat born in 2024. Lilli lives with her cat friend Laku in the same foster home. When Lilli arrived at the foster home, she was shy and spent the first couple of days on the sauna bench hissing at people. However, food tasted good and she eventually dared to go to the toilet regularly. Slowly, the cat's head appeared from the bathroom door and a new foster home opened up before her eyes. Lilli quickly realized that these new people gave food and pats and they were definitely nice people. Soon, the small 3.5 kg cat meowed loudly and demanded attention and pats. And who wouldn't want to pet Lillin's silky soft fur. It didn't take long before Lilli started regularly and punctually waking up the humans every morning by meowing on the bed and demanding attention as well as breakfast. Now Lilli is always around whenever something happens in the kitchen, but even the chores are left to her cat friend Laku. In the mornings and evenings it's fun to play with Laku and run around the house and up and down the cat tree. Lilli also enjoys playing with different toys and clearly still has a childlike enthusiasm. Encouraged, Lilli has dared to go to the balcony to sniff the world and sit on the sauna lower bench watching people sitting around. However, the best place to watch events is the high cat tree, where Lilli spends time happily. Lilli is not a kitten, but she comes to the proximity of her own accord and as a new thing, she likes to come next to a person "tenting" under the blanket that has been lifted up! Lilli tolerates brushing in small sessions and willingly wants treats in the situation. The claws have not yet been cut in the foster home, as they are still getting used to touching the paws. Lillin's ears have also been cleaned upon the veterinarian's request and now they are in very good condition!

Lilli etsii kotia yhdessä Laku kissan kanssa. Lilli on vuonna 2024 syntynyt harmaaraidallinen pitkäkarvainen tyttökissa. Kaikista paras paikka tapahtumien seurailuun on kuitenkin korkea kissapuu, jossa Lilli viettää mielellään aikaa.

About Lilli

What life with Lilli looks like

Lilli is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Rekku Rescue ry in Helsinki.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇮Adopting from Finland

Finnish shelters require a home visit and an adoption contract. Animals are vetted; the EU pet passport covers cross-border travel within the bloc.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rekku Rescue ry handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rekku Rescue ry will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rekku Rescue ry early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FI). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
