The lovely Welsh-A-Pony mare was born in 2008 and comes from a terrible horse farm near Cologne, where there were no paved paddocks for the winter and unfortunately no pasture for the summer either. Lilo has already suffered several episodes of laminitis, which is why she cannot be ridden and will therefore not be rehomed. Keeping horses with laminitis is very demanding—when they can be kept outside at all, it’s only for a few hours at a time, preferably with a grazing muzzle, on sparse grass. Ponies like these find it extremely difficult to find the right home, which is why Lilo will remain at Schutzengel für Tiere. She had been living together with the Welsh Cob mare Franzi in Weeze; however, after her companion passed away in the summer of 2024, the horse farm there was unfortunately abandoned. We’ve now found a wonderful foster home for Lilo in Willich-Anrath. There, Lilo enjoys groundwork sessions, and there’s always something interesting to watch. Plus, she has a buddy her own size in the pony Ben. Luckily for Lilo, all that’s left now are kind godparents who would love to visit her too.

Die hübsche Welsh-A-Ponystute ist 2008 geboren und stammt aus einer üblen Pferdehaltung bei Köln, wo es für den Winter keine befestigten Paddocks gab und leider auch keine Wiese für den Sommer. Lilo hatte bereits mehrere Hufreheschübe, deshalb darf sie nicht geritten werden und wird deshalb auch nicht vermittelt. Denn die Haltung von Pferden mit Hufrehe ist aufwendig, sie dürfen wenn überhaupt nur stundenweise, am besten mit Fressbremse, auf mageres Gras. Solche Ponys finden nur schwer das richtige Zuhause, deshalb bleibt Lilo bei Schutzengel für Tiere. Sie stand zusammen mit der Welsh Cob-Stute Franzi in Weeze, nach dem Tod ihrer Gefährtin im Sommer 2024 wurde die Pferdehaltung dort aber leider aufgegeben. Wir haben für Lilo eine tolle Pflegestelle in Willich-Anrath gefunden. Dort wird mit Lilo Bodenarbeit gemacht und es gibt immer etwas zu gucken. Und mit dem Pony Ben hat sie einen Kumpel in ihrer Größe. Zu Lilos Glück fehlen ihr jetzt nur noch nette Patinnen und Paten, die sie gerne auch besuchen dürfen.
