Lisa

Golden Retriever Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

22-10-26 Lisa is a shy girl who has come into our care from a breeder alongside her sister, Molly, in search of a new start. She enjoys human company and has a playful side, particularly when she is with her sister, whom she loves to play with. Lisa also enjoys toys and has been walking happily on a harness. She has walked with other dogs in the big yard without any problems, which is lovely to see. Although she is a little shy, she has lots of potential to grow in confidence as she settles into a loving home. Lisa gets on wonderfully with other dogs and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. She can live with older, dog-savvy children who are sensible. As Lisa has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding as she adjusts to her new surroundings and learns what it means to be part of a family. As Lisa can already walk on a harness, she would enjoy one or two gentle walks around the local area with her new canine companion once she has settled in. With a loving home, a friendly resident dog and time to build her confidence, we hope Lisa will blossom into a happy and playful little companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Lisa

What life with Lisa looks like

Lisa is a large adult golden retriever dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
