Adopt Lisbeth

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Location: Romania, Orastie Gender: female Born: around May 25 Character: friendly, very social, not suitable for solitary living. Condition: mild ataxia, therefore only suitable for apartment living. Meow. I am the "clumsy" Lisbeth. Why clumsy? I was abandoned as a kitten with my brothers simply at the door by Manuela, the animal rescuer. I caught an infection and as a result, I have a permanent neurological condition. Due to this, I sometimes stumble and shake my head. That’s why I appear a bit clumsy. But it doesn’t bother me. I love playing and running around, climbing, and being stroked. I don’t want to go out, though, as it’s too insecure for me. I would rather stay together with a buddy on the sofa. If you don’t have a suitable friend for me, I would be delighted if I could move in with my friend Mystogan. I play especially well with him. But I also get along well with other cats at my foster home. I have already received my first vaccinations against cat flu and the feline respiratory disease, I am dewormed, and treated for fleas. When I travel to you, I will be neutered and receive a rabies vaccination. You can read all of this in my EU-pet passport. So, sign up, then I can pack my bags and start my journey to you. I eagerly await your inquiry!. This animal is microchipped.

Standort: Rumänien, Orastie Geschlecht: weiblich Geboren: ca. 05/25 Charakter: freundlich, sehr sozial, keine Einzelhaltung. Handicap: leichte Ataxie, deshalb nur reine Wohnungshaltung. Miau. Ich bin die „tollpatschige“ Lisbeth. Wieso tollpatschig? Deine Lisbeth

About Lisbeth

What life with Lisbeth looks like

Lisbeth is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lisbeth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lisbeth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lisbeth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lisbeth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lisbeth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lisbeth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lisbeth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
