Listnik

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Young dog Listnik - Także from Sobolew - Looking for a home! Meet Listnik, a small (weight approx. 5.5 kg) approximately 2-year-old dog who has experienced more in his life than any animal should. He arrived at our foundation during the liquidation of a dog pound in Sobolew. We immediately took him to a 24-hour clinic. Listnik was completely lost - very scared, tense, as if trying to disappear from the world. He did not trust people, did not seek contact, did not even want to eat. He was in a very bad mental state. Today we can say one thing: Listnik has made the first, very important step. At the temporary home, he is opening up. Slowly, carefully, but more and more often, he approaches a person and... demands attention. As if he is learning anew that closeness can be something good, and touch does not have to mean fear. He is still a shy and fearful dog; he still needs time and patience, but in his eyes you can see something beautiful - curiosity and a desire to be close to a person, despite the fear. Listnik is a very gentle and delicate dog. There is not even a hint of aggression in him. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is accommodating and compliant. Very charming in appearance and small in size. Simply a sweetheart. Listnik still needs to work on walking on a leash, because he still pulls a bit. We are looking for a conscious, caring home for him, one that understands that dogs after difficult experiences do not change in one day. But when they open up... they can love the most. Listnik has already suffered enough. Now he deserves peace, security and a person with whom he can finally breathe. Listnik currently lives in a temporary home near Warsaw. If you think you can give him a home, fill out the adoption form. Maybe you will give him the life he never had. ‎ Adoption form Conditions and adoption process - here Data processing clause - here

Listnik do adopcji - Listnik Lokalizacja: Warszawa MŁODY PIESEK LISTNIK – ZABRANY Z SOBOLEWA – SZUKA DOMU!Poznajcie Listnika – małego (waga ok. 5,5 kg), około 2-letniego pieska, który przeszedł w życiu więcej, niż powinien przejść jakikolwiek zwierzak.Trafił do naszej fundacji podczas likwidacji mordowni w Sobolewie. Od razu zabraliśmy go do całodobowej kliniki. About Listnik

What life with Listnik looks like

Listnik is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Psa Karmela in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Listnik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Listnik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psa Karmela handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Listnik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Listnik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psa Karmela will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Listnik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Listnik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psa Karmela early rather than rehoming privately; they know Listnik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
