* For a note, please read Why we are cautious about placing our dogs with families with young children. In May 2026, we visited Elisa's animal shelter in Romania again, with whom we work closely. One of the shelter workers rescued sweet little Little Monkey from a construction site. The poor pup was wandering around with more dogs and pups, but she was far and away the smallest of the bunch. Not only that; she also had no mother left, so the shelter worker decided to take her in. Little Monkey is adorable, but also a very lively and social pup. She is likely to remain small in size. She hopes to make a new start in the Netherlands soon. This pup is almost old enough for a single trip to the Netherlands and can, if we have found a good place, travel with the transport from the end of June. Her rabies vaccination is valid. Of course, all other vaccinations are in order as well. Additionally, her health has been checked, and she has a registered microchip and a passport. When a suitable adopter or foster family presents themselves, our foundation will arrange transportation from the animal shelter with professional pet transport. Our puppies are brought home one by one to the address of their shelter or their permanent home. We hope to find a nice place for this pup in the Netherlands soon! In Romania itself, dogs in the animal shelter have no chance, even the sweetest and most beautiful pups have no chance of ever being adopted... And a life locked up in a Romanian animal shelter kennel is not a life, but primarily survival. Fortunately, animal love 🐾 does not stop at a border!

In mei 2026 waren we weer op bezoek bij het asiel van Elisa in Roemenië, waar wij erg nauw mee samenwerken. Eén van de asielmedewerkers heeft lieve kleine Little Monkey van een bouwterrein gered. Het arme pupje liep daar rond met nog meer honden en pups maar zij was verreweg de kleinste van het stel. Dat niet alleen; ze had ook geen moeder meer en daarom besloot de medewerkster van het asiel haar mee te nemen. Little Monkey is aandoenlijke, maar ook een vrolijke en zeer sociale pup. Waarschijnlijk zal ze klein van formaat blijven. Ze hoopt snel een nieuwe start te mogen maken in Nederland. Deze pup is bijna oud genoeg voor een enkele reis naar Nederland en kan, als we een goede plek hebben gevonden, vanaf eind juni mee met het transport. Haar Rabiës enting is geldig. Natuurlijk zijn ook alle andere inentingen in orde. Daarnaast is haar gezondheid onderzocht en heeft zij een geregistreerde chip en een paspoort. Wanneer zich een goed passende adoptant of een gastgezin voor haar aandient, dan regelt onze stichting het vervoer vanaf het asiel, met professioneel huisdiertransport. Onze hondjes worden één voor één thuisgebracht bij het adres van hun opvang of hun blijvende thuis. We hopen dat we voor deze pup snel een fijne plek in Nederland vinden! In Roemenië zelf zijn honden in het asiel kansloos, zelfs de liefste en mooiste pups maken geen kans om daar ooit geadopteerd te worden... En een leven opgesloten in een Roemeense asiel kennel is geen leven, maar vooral overleven. Gelukkig hoeft dierenliefde 🐾 niet te stoppen bij een landsgrens!
