Loki

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Adult · 5 years

Looking for a gentle soul with a heart full of love and a few wonderfully quirky habits? Then we’d love to introduce you to the beautiful Loki. 💜 Loki’s journey hasn’t been the easiest. When she first came into our care she was frightened, underweight, covered in scabs and had lost much of her gorgeous long fur. Fast forward to today and she is almost unrecognisable. Thanks to lots of love, patience and TLC, Loki has transformed into a beautiful fluffy girl whose confidence grows a little more every single day. ✨ Loki likes to take life at her own pace. New people can be a little scary, so she’ll need a patient family who will let her settle in and discover that humans really are pretty wonderful. Once you’ve earned her trust though… prepare to fall completely in love! ❤️ She’s incredibly affectionate with the people she knows and has the sweetest little ways of showing it. Expect gentle head boops, adorable face rubs and one of her funniest habits… she absolutely loves licking the palms of your hands! 😂 She’ll also happily keep you company wherever you go. Watching TV? Loki’s nearby. Working from home? She’ll probably supervise from the desk. Relaxing in the conservatory? She’ll be there too. She simply likes being close to her favourite humans. 🥹 While she’s not quite a lap cat, she does love snuggling up beside you and soaking up all the fuss… on her own terms, of course. She’s definitely discovered that attention is rather lovely and would happily accept plenty more of it in her forever home. 🥰 Like many cats, Loki has… opinions… especially when it comes to food. 🍽️ She’s wonderfully picky and it took her foster family some detective work to discover exactly what she enjoys. Now they’ve found her favourites, she’s eating much better, gaining weight and her stunning long coat is becoming softer and healthier every week. She especially enjoys being fussed while she eats, because apparently dinner tastes even better with a personal cheerleader! 😹 Speaking of food… if you happen to have some, Loki may politely (or not so politely!) see if she can help herself. She’s currently learning that your dinner isn’t actually hers… although she’s not entirely convinced yet! 🍗👀 Loki also loves being up high where she can watch the world go by. Whether she’s perched on furniture or waiting at head height to greet you with affectionate head bumps, she’s always happiest when she can keep an eye on what her humans are doing. 🐈⬆️ She’s met other cats in foster care and, although she’s still a little unsure and can hiss or grumble if they get into her personal space, she’s never been actively aggressive. With slow introductions, patience and plenty of reassurance, we think she could learn to live with another calm, respectful cat. Equally, she’d be perfectly happy soaking up all of the attention as your one and only feline queen. 👑 Loki is looking for someone who understands that the very best friendships take time. If you’re willing to let her blossom at her own pace, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, affectionate, funny little shadow who just wants to be close to the people she loves. 💕 🏡 Could your home be the happy ending Loki has been waiting for? We think whoever adopts this gorgeous girl is going to be incredibly lucky.

About Loki

What life with Loki looks like

Loki is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at StraySafe Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. StraySafe Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — StraySafe Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with StraySafe Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
