Adopt Lope

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

♂, born ca. 12/2024 - lovable - active - social in Spain Lope is a ca.12/2024 born Husky-Mix male dog with a shoulder height of ca. 65 cm. Lope wandered around as a puppy, hungry and very emaciated with another dog near a gas station in a nearby village. He could be secured and brought to the local animal shelter. Unfortunately, his companion ran away and could not be secured. Lope was most likely abandoned and left to fend for himself. Since then, he has been eagerly waiting at the animal shelter for a loving and adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed, to live in security and well-being, happily. Lope is a very friendly and strong young male dog who, according to his breed mix, is quite active and not only desires and needs physical but also mental stimulation. The lovable wonderful male dog now seeks, for his final happiness, engaged people who have a lot of time for him, challenge and foster him, teach him the dog ABC with patience and calm, ideally with regular visits to dog training classes, and integrate him into their everyday life, where Lope finally experiences the affection, love, and care he has not had before. Lope is compatible with fellow animals of both sexes. He would like and be able to, to be rehomed with further sociable sovereign fellow animals, preferably of similar age and size. For Lope, a loving home with active people is sought who have a lot of time for him, as well as a desire and joy in shared activities with him and explore the world together, because he has probably not yet experienced much and is also not a couch potato. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for him. Cats and/or small animals should not be present in his future home. Lope will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. He is located in an animal shelter in Andalusia/Spain. The adoption fee for Lope is 460 Euro. About Lope

What life with Lope looks like

Lope is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lope, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lope?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lope on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lope if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lope already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lope isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lope and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
