Adopt Lotek

Male

Caregiver Wirtualnym is Beata Szymańska ♥ Lotek is a small puppy, reaching up to the knee. He arrived at the animal shelter with his brother Lutke. Both puppies were then feral and it was clear that they had very little contact with humans. Lotek showed a greater interest in humans and less fear of them from the start. He approached with curiosity. Now, after some time of interacting with people at the animal shelter, he is much braver. He reacts to humans with joy and energy, approaches with interest, and although he is still a bit unsure, he has made significant progress in his interactions with humans. A lot of support in these progressions comes from the presence of another, open-to-people dog, from which he learns proper interaction with humans. We are looking for a caregiver who, through patient work and sensitivity, will help him fully open up and show him that the world is not as scary as it seems. The puppy does not know how to walk on a leash.

Opiekunem Wirtualnym jest Beata Szymańska ♥ Lotek to niewielki piesek, sięgający przed kolano. Przyjechał do schroniska razem z bratem Lutkiem.

About Lotek

What life with Lotek looks like

Lotek is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lotek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
