Luna &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Our 7-year-old Luna (as of May 2025) is a French Bulldog. This lovely and truly cuddly girl is waiting at our friends from "El Buen Amigo" for her forever home. Luna was found alone on the street. The sad fur bundle, which our partners took in, was undernourished, dirty, and suffered from a severe eye infection. Although Luna was not microchipped, it was quickly discovered that she has a family—albeit one that does not seem to care at all about their dog. And so the grateful bully-dog stayed with the animal shelters and moved to a loving foster family, where she has since fully recovered. Luna has gained weight and has actually built up some muscles from playing with other dogs. That she can now play happily is due to her heart rhythm disorders finally being treated with medication, and her epilepsy, which her owners likely considered "divinely given," is now well-controlled. Yes, Luna is not a healthy dog—many of her problems must be considered almost breed-specific, while others came about due to neglect and lack of therapy. It is not easy to choose a dog like Luna, but you will not find a more grateful friend than this little heartbreaker. Luna is medicated and leads a completely normal dog life. She loves comfortable, long walks through the neighborhood, endless cuddles, treats, and quickly forms friendships. Luna likes children and can also fit into an already existing four-legged companion without any problems … Luna would so much like to have her own family that spoils her and shows her what it's like to be unconditionally loved. If you can help us make Luna's biggest wish come true, we are looking forward to hearing from you soon.

About Luna &#8211

What life with Luna &#8211 looks like

Luna &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
