Lupin

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Lupin - a calm boy Status: available for adoption Lupin is a dog that suddenly makes you appreciate silence, calm walks, and a life without too many distractions. He doesn't need big adventures or to be the center of attention - he much prefers forest paths, a peaceful environment, and a predictable world. And it's in these conditions that he shows what a great boy he is. Because Lupin in the countryside is a completely different dog than Lupin in the city. In a peaceful environment, he walks with a loose tail, sniffs, wades in streams, and even wags his tail at the sight of a leash. At home, he becomes curious - he checks the kitchen to see what's cooking, comes to greet you when you return, sometimes gently nudges you with his nose or curls up between your legs in the car, as if saying "okay, you can be my human." He's also increasingly open to petting and daily closeness. He's a very gentle, subtle boy. He doesn't bark, make a fuss, or cause a mess. He gets along great with other dogs - especially when he can consider them his personal protection on walks. At home, he likes to play with them and watch their bravery. He's also a good time alone, tolerates grooming, bathing, and other grooming procedures, although he can have his own opinion when it comes to matted fur. He's also a foodie... but only in his own, very complicated culinary system. Chicken soup from wet food? Yes. A bit of butter? Maybe. Eating in stress? Absolutely not, don't joke. And that's it - Lupin is a fearful dog. The city is just plain terrifying for him. Noise, crowds, children running around playgrounds, people suddenly appearing behind your back - it's too much for him. In such moments, he panics and it's hard to get him back on track. The vet is a whole different level of drama, walks in the rain aren't his favorite either. He needs a patient, calm, and understanding home that will allow him to slowly build a sense of security. We're looking for a home for Lupin without young children, preferably outside the city, in a quiet area. A place where he can finally breathe and just be a dog. Because under all that fussing, there's a really wonderful, very good boy. 🐾 Lupin is a calm boy Status: available for adoption Lupin is a dog that suddenly makes you appreciate silence, calm walks, and a life without too many distractions. Lupin - spokojny chłopak Status: do adopcji Lupin to taki pies, przy którym człowiek nagle zaczyna doceniać ciszę, spokojne spacery i życie bez nadmiaru atrakcji. Nie potrzebuje wielkich przygód ani centrum wydarzeń — dużo bardziej cieszą go leśne ścieżki, spokojne otoczenie i przewidywalny świat. Jedzenie w stresie? Absolutnie nie, proszę nie żartować. No i właśnie — Lupin to pies lękowy. Miasto go zwyczajnie przeraża. W takich momentach wpada w panikę i trudno wraca do równowagi.

About Lupin

What life with Lupin looks like

Lupin is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lupin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lupin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lupin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lupin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lupin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lupin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lupin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
