File No.: h-korfu-mabel-f-0524 Update September 2025: Another year has passed without a real chance for Mabel. We so wish that Mabel would be seen and get another chance to be part of a family! In the video from 09/25, you can see that Mabel is now walking really well and clearly enjoying the outing! Mabel gets along well with both male and female dog friends. Update October 2024: Mabel has temporarily moved to quarantine for training. She is doing great and recently went for her first walk outside the animal shelter. Mabel lets herself be touched by the shelter manager, and things are slowly but surely improving with her! May 2024: Mabel is roughly estimated to be 9 years old and weighs around 20kg with a shoulder height of about 50-55cm. We took Mabel in from the CARE-Shelter in the north of the island, as the animal welfare workers there lost their land and desperately tried to find new homes for the dogs. Originally, she came from an animal shelter in Paxos in 2018, where she was picked up as a stray. Mabel is sociable and was allowed to move freely on the shelter grounds—her best friend was Zeus, with whom she loved to play. Mabel didn't want to be touched by people at first, but with time and empathy, she has become closer to humans. For Mabel, we are looking for patient and empathetic individuals with dog experience. It would be so sad if she had to spend her whole life in shelters. : ( All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport. Mabel will be supported by Maja Nabben from Hürth with 15€ per month starting from June 2025—thank you very much.

Wir wünschen uns so sehr, dass Mabel gesehen wird und nochmal Teil einer Familie werden darf! Im Video von 09/25 sieht man, dass Mabel mittlerweile ganz toll spazieren geht und den Ausflug sichtlich genießt! Mit ihren Hundekumpels beiderlei Geschlechts ist Mabel gut verträglich. Update Oktober 2024: Mabel ist vorübergehend zum Trainieren in die Quarantäne gezogen. Sie macht sich super und war kürzlich das erste Mal vor dem Tierheim spazieren. Mabel lässt sich von der Tierheimleiterin anfassen und so langsam wird es richtig gut mit ihr! Mai 2024: Mabel ist grob geschätzt 9 Jahre alt und wiegt um die 20kg bei etwa 50-55cm Schulterhöhe. Wir haben Mabel aus dem CARE-Shelter im Norden der Insel übernommen, da die Tierschützer dort das Land verloren haben und verzweifelt versucht haben die Hunde anderweitig unterzubringen. Ganz ursprünglich kam sie 2018 aus einem Tierheim in Paxos - dort wurde sie als Streuner aufgegriffen. Mabel ist verträglich und durfte sich frei auf dem Tierheimgelände bewegen - ihr bester Freund war Zeus, mit dem sie gerne gespielt hat. Von Menschen wollte sich Mabel nicht anfassen lassen, doch mit Zeit und Einfühlungsvermögen ist sie näher zum Menschen gekommen. Für Mabel suchen wir geduldige Interessenten mit ensprechend Einfühlungsvermögen und Hundeerfahrung. Es wäre so traurig, wenn sie ihr ganzes Leben in Tierheimen verbringen muss :( Alle Hunde sind erstgeimpft, gechipt und haben einen EU-Heimtierausweis.
