Malik

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 16 months

Sometimes love needs silence and patience. Not every dog will immediately jump on your lap, lick your face, and turn the world upside down. Some just need you to sit next to them first. And just be. Malik is just such a dog. He won't run with joy at the sight of you - not yet. But if you give him time, give him yourself... something really beautiful can happen. Who is this dog for? Malik is looking for a calm, affectionate, and patient person - someone who doesn't expect an immediate relationship, but wants to build it step by step. This dog is ideal for people who value peace, don't have high expectations for the pet's activity, and can respect its boundaries. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a peaceful home for Malik, preferably without young children and with the possibility of living in a quiet environment (a noisy city would be too overwhelming for him). He can live with another dog - he shares space with two dogs of his size in a kennel and gets along well with them. It's very possible that the presence of a balanced canine companion will help him gain courage. At this stage, he doesn't need long walks or fetch games - he needs your presence, peace, and love. What's worth knowing about him? Malik is an older, shy dog who clearly lacks confidence. He doesn't know commands, doesn't walk on a leash - this world still scares him a bit. But at the same time... there is no shadow of aggression in him. He lets himself be picked up, is friendly towards people and other dogs, and although he is afraid of new situations, with the help of a patient caregiver, he can learn that life doesn't have to be scary. He is not very active, so he will find himself perfectly at the side of a person who is looking for a calm, quiet companion for everyday moments of closeness. Malik is still waiting. He doesn't push himself on people, he doesn't shine in the background. But that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a chance. On the contrary - it's exactly such dogs that need a warm home the most. Weight: 8kg Leash: no Attitude towards dogs: positive He has been neutered, dewormed, de-fleaed, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. Czasem miłość potrzebuje ciszy i cierpliwości. Malik to właśnie taki pies. Wręcz przeciwnie – to właśnie takim psom najbardziej potrzeba ciepłego domu. Waga : 8kg Smycz : nie Stosunek do psów : pozytywny Został wykastrowany, odpchlony, odrobaczony, zaszczepiony, zachipowany, zarejestrowany w bazie Safe Animal. About Malik

What life with Malik looks like

Malik is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
