adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Mallow has found a home! His story: The young Mallow is about 7 months old, currently around 45 cm tall, and weighs about 15 kg. The handsome mixed-breed male dog lives on a foster home and is waiting there to find his perfect match. Mallow is a sensitive and very clever young puppy who needs time to build trust. Initially, strangers unsettle him, and he meets many environmental stimuli outside very cautiously. New situations can scare him, which is why his future people should bring patience, understanding, and dog experience. However, once Mallow has built trust and adapted to his trusted people, he shows a different side: he becomes very cuddly, clingy, and enjoys the closeness of his people. He can also settle down well once he has adapted and knows his place. The young male dog is very clever and highly trainable. For treats, he is highly motivated and has already quickly learned "sit," "stay," and "come" on his foster home. Mallow is house-trained, and leash manners are currently being trained. He rides in the car without any problems. Mallow loves toys and enjoys playing with them. So far, he has shown himself to be well compatible with other dogs, but cats have not yet been tested. Children should already be older and well-behaved in his new home to handle an insecure dog respectfully. For Mallow, we are looking for a quiet, dog-experienced home in the countryside. A securely fenced yard is a prerequisite for him so that he can adapt to new impressions at his own pace and have enough retreat options. Those who are willing to give this sensitive but very affectionate young puppy time and security will find in Mallow a loyal, clever, and cuddly companion. Mallow is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has not yet been neutered and, of course, has an EU pet passport. This is a young, adolescent dog. This animal is not yet neutered/spayed.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Mallow

What life with Mallow looks like

Mallow is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mallow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mallow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mallow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mallow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mallow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mallow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mallow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
