Maple

Poodle · Female · Puppy · 11 months

Maple is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can receive plenty of one to one attention and love. She is a very affectionate girl and would really enjoy being the only dog in the home, so she can have all the fuss and attention she may have missed out on previously. Maple can be vocal and becomes stressed when left alone, so her new family will need to take things slowly and gradually build up her confidence with being on her own. Outside the home, Maple would love nothing more than having lots of doggy friends. She enjoys being playful and having a good run around in the field with other dogs, although she can be very boisterous and will need some guidance with her interactions. If you’re looking for a loving, fun and cheeky young dog and have the time and patience to help Maple settle and flourish, she could be the perfect girl for you. Maple is an 11 month old Cockapoo who is still very much a puppy. She’s a bright, cheeky and playful girl who can be a little sensitive at first, but soon warms up and shows her fun personality. Maple can live with secondary school aged children and older. Maple is crate trained but has struggled with separation, so she’ll need someone who can patiently build up her time alone. She can be boisterous and very playful around other dogs, so she would like to be the only dog in the home. She still has some typical puppy behaviours, including being cheeky and trying to take things, so positive, reward based training will be important for her growth. She’s a lovely young girl with lots of potential and is looking for a patient family who can help her grow into a happy, confident adult dog.

About Maple

What life with Maple looks like

Maple is a puppy/kitten poodle dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maple, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maple?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maple on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maple if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maple already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maple isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maple and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
