Marble

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Marble could live with children aged 12+. She would like to be the only animal in the home and will require outdoor access. Marble is a beautiful young lady who enjoys meeting people and is always quick to come and say hello! She loves to sit on her shelf, watching out the window for passers by and taking the opportunity to introduce herself if given half a chance! Although super friendly and happy to lap up attention, Marble can sometimes find herself feeling overwhelmed and will let people know with a little batt of her paw. For this reason, we feel a home with older, cat savvy children, will suit this gorgeous girl best. A family that can can recognise when she’s had enough and needs a little space. Marble would love to find a forever home where she can feel safe and fully relax around her family, this will no doubt bring out the very best of her sweet nature.

About Marble

What life with Marble looks like

Marble is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter in Newcastle.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marble, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marble?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marble on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marble if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Marble already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marble isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marble and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
