Marina

Cocker Spaniel · Female · Adult · 6 years

I would like a home filled with love and kindness! I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats. I would like a secure garden to spend time in. I can walk on a lead and harness and will enjoy walks! I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training. I will be spayed before finding my forever home. 03-10-26 Marina has come to us from a breeder to find the loving forever home she deserves. She is a lovely girl who is understandably feeling a little overwhelmed to find herself here with us at the moment. Marina is quite shy and isn't yet used to being handled, but she is already showing us what a sweet girl she is. Once she gets to know you and feels comfortable, she will happily roll over for a lovely tummy rub! Marina has a very sweet nature and we are often greeted by a happy, waggy tail. She is already making little steps forward and we think she will continue to progress beautifully once she has the security of a loving home and time to settle. With patience, kindness and plenty of reassurance, we hope she will soon become a much more confident girl. Marina will be looking for a loving home with adopters who have plenty of time to spend with her as she adjusts to her new life. Experience with ex-breeding dogs would be beneficial, as her adopters will need to understand that she may need some time to settle and build her confidence. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog-savvy children aged 9+. Marina will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help her feel safe and settled. Having a canine friend by her side will give her reassurance as she learns all about life in a home and hopefully help her confidence to blossom. Marina has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she learns about all the sights, sounds and routines of home life, including house training. She is already walking well on a lead and we think she will really enjoy discovering the world on walks once she is settled and confident enough to enjoy them. Marina is a very sweet girl with a lovely waggy tail, and we think there is a happy and affectionate little personality waiting to shine through. With the love and patience she deserves, we hope she will soon find her confidence and enjoy everything life has to offer. Marina has a travel document. Marina has been given the Gift of Life by Hannah Wadsworth Through the generosity of a Gift of Life sponsor, this dog was able to leave behind an uncertain future in Ireland and find safety and care at Many Tears. Every sponsorship helps us rescue and save more dogs in desperate need. If you would like to become part of a rescue story, please consider donating to our Gift of Life fund. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Marina

What life with Marina looks like

Marina is a adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
