May (ggf. Einzelkatze)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

May (possibly a single cat) Animal ID: 1168 At the shelter since 06.05.2026 Single cat or socialized second cat with a compatible character! May is a loving and affectionate cat that enjoys human company. She is friendly, open-minded and enjoys attention and long cuddle sessions. In her previous foster home, May made it clear that she would like her home to be her own. She therefore wants to live as a single cat and does not need any feline friends. She has been compatible with dogs. For May, a home with outdoor access is particularly important. She has a strong desire for her own territory and should be given the opportunity to go outside and explore her surroundings after a suitable adjustment period. We wish for May a loving home where she can enjoy the full attention of her humans as a single princess.

May (ggf.

About May (ggf. Einzelkatze)

What life with May (ggf. Einzelkatze) looks like

May (ggf. Einzelkatze) is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting May (ggf. Einzelkatze), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about May (ggf. Einzelkatze)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw May (ggf. Einzelkatze) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt May (ggf. Einzelkatze) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is May (ggf. Einzelkatze) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if May (ggf. Einzelkatze) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know May (ggf. Einzelkatze) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
