Meadow

Female · Puppy · 7 months

Meet Meadow, our Shar-Pei x Staffie!! Meadow arrived at Battersea with a good history, being described as an affectionate, excitable, bouncy girl with lots of energy, who is always keen to make friends with everyone she sees, whether known or unknown, adult or children she will want to make friends. Since arriving, Meadow has been the same excitable and friendly girl with everyone she's met but is still learning to keep all 4 paws on the floor and not jump up for attention. She responds quickly to training, will listen to a sit cue when asked and has recently learnt a down. She can pull on lead and be excitable whilst out walking but is responsive to her name and has good handler focus. Meadow is now ready to take on the next challenge in her life and is looking for a home in any location as long as she has access to her own garden. She would love new owners to have some experience in caring for a young dog and who are active and looking for a dog they can do training with. Meadow is a very sociable girl and could potentially live with an older steady role model who can show her how to become a well rounded adult dog. She is looking for a home with a secure garden for training & burn offs & could potentiality live with confident teens that can get involved with her training. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Meadow you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Meadow

What life with Meadow looks like

Meadow is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meadow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meadow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meadow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meadow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meadow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meadow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meadow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
