Meatball

English Bulldog · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Meatball is a magnificent bundle of fun with a waggy tail, a big grin and an even bigger zest for life! This cheerful young boy is always ready for his next adventure and is looking for a family who will embrace his playful spirit while helping him grow into the fantastic companion we know he can be. Since arriving at Battersea as a stray, Meatball has won everyone over with his affectionate nature and love of people. He's a sociable boy who enjoys meeting other dogs, loves exploring on walks and is always happy to soak up plenty of fuss from staff. As a young dog, he's still polishing up his manners and can sometimes get a little carried away with his enthusiasm, but is a foodie and eager to learn, making him a joy to train. He also enjoys enrichment and play, which help keep both his busy body and clever mind occupied! Meatball is looking for an active home that can offer him plenty of love, patience and positive guidance as he settles into family life. His new owners should enjoy continuing his training, helping him build his confidence and introducing him to the world at his own pace! He could also potentially live with a calm, neutered adult dog due to him being entire, who can be a good role model for him. As we don't know much about Meatball's past, he'll need someone around for much of the day initially while he gradually learns that being left home alone is safe and nothing to worry about. With the right support, Meatball is sure to flourish into a loyal, fun-loving best friend. About Meatball

What life with Meatball looks like

Meatball is a large puppy/kitten english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meatball, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meatball?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meatball on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meatball if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meatball already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meatball isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meatball and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
