Elton

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

Say hello to our little Elton. This chap is looking for a loving home where he can rest his Frenchie paws! He has shown to be a little sensitive when meeting new people but has very quickly warmed up to his humans here at Battersea. He is a loving and affectionate lad who does have a cheeky side. He is known to zoom about and enjoy a little play. Elton is looking for new owners who have experience with his breed and who can guide him in a home and provide him with basic training. Elton sometimes forgets his manners with other dogs at times and can be a bit aroused when off-lead. However he has good response to his handler when prompting him away to have a break and for the most part is a friendly boy who likes to have polite greets. Elton also has a particular interest in feet and does think they are fun to play with. New owners will need to put some consistent training into his behaviour in this area but is picking this up well so far. He is looking to be the only dog in the home at this time and would thrive in a location away from the inner city. He would love to have access own his own garden & he may even be able to live with a dog savvy cat! Due to his overstimulated behaviour around feet we feel an adult only home would suit him best at this stage to ensure his training in this area is consistent. Elton is ready for a new chapter in life and is the most affectionate and loving of souls. If you are a Frenchie enthusiast then he is perfect for you! If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Elton, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. tch for the dog you have contacted us about

About Elton

What life with Elton looks like

Elton is a small young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
