Meira

Husky · Female · Adult · 4 years

Meira is a beautiful Huskydog who arrived at the shelter on June 8th, 2026 as a stray dog. She was found in Kecskemét and reported to the shelter. Unfortunately, we will never know what fate made Meira homeless; it will remain her secret. Meira is one of many dogs that were not chipped and waited in vain for their owners, including Liberta where no one came to take her home. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she will soon get her ticket to happiness. Meira is a sweet, friendly and kind dog, very attached to humans. She enjoys receiving pets, which she really likes and wants more of. She is a great dog who wants to conquer and discover the world. Meira loves it when people give her attention and affection, which unfortunately is almost impossible for many dogs in shelters and always falls short. She is happy when her new humans lovingly teach her the basics of dog arithmetic and challenge and encourage her further. She would also be a great companion on jogging, hiking, cycling or similar activities, as long as human and dog have a good time and lots of fun together. Meira will go through thick and thin with her new humans. She gets along well with her fellow dogs and is currently (July 7th, 206) being integrated into a mixed pack. We are looking for loving and adventurous dog friends who love, appreciate and can handle the nature and character traits of Huskies. Nice bipeds who will provide Meira with dog- and breed-appropriate exercise, give her a safe home, lots of pets, long and varied walks, sports activities, enough rest phases, plenty of quality time and of course full family connection. In return, Meira brings a lot of love and joy into her new home. Who will show Meira how beautiful life can be? Meira can travel from around the end of July 2026 if she has found a home or foster home.

About Meira

What life with Meira looks like

Meira is a adult husky dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
