Menschenfreund Ozzy

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Friendly male dog Ozzy seeks a foster home Ozzy is only 1-2 years young and currently still lives in Romania. There, he lives in a large enclosure with a female dog and is lovingly cared for by an animal rescuer. Ozzy is a beautiful medium to large male dog with a sturdy build. He is full of life and greets every stranger with overwhelming joy – a firm stand is required here. Ozzy loves people and wants to belong, he bonds quickly and enjoys every affection. Whether snuggling on the sofa or wild games in the garden – Ozzy would always be there. He also gets along well with the dogs on site. Running on a leash is still something he is not familiar with, and he also needs to learn the rest of a normal day on a foster home. We are looking for particularly active people with a rural environment and garden for Ozzy. As he has a lot of strength and can also jump, he is not suitable for small children or older people. Instead, he needs someone who can lovingly teach him everything, keep him appropriately occupied, and take beautiful long walks with him. neutered and fully vaccinated ✓ Age: 1-2 years (estimated) Breed: mixed breed (could be HSH, but behaviorally more likely not) house-trained: probably not child-friendly: probably yes, but should be at least 12 years old cat-friendly: unknown dog-friendly: yes (with the dogs on site) Location: Romania Active couples, single individuals, families with older children People with a garden or rural surroundings / suburban area Do you want to give Ozzy a temporary home? Then feel free to contact Sandra (Please no calls) Ozzy is waiting for active and loving people, maybe you are it?

About Menschenfreund Ozzy

What life with Menschenfreund Ozzy looks like

Menschenfreund Ozzy is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. in Großefehn.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Menschenfreund Ozzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Menschenfreund Ozzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Menschenfreund Ozzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Menschenfreund Ozzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Menschenfreund Ozzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Menschenfreund Ozzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Menschenfreund Ozzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
