Merlin for adoption - Merlin Location: Warsaw area Meet Merlin, a 6-year-old dog with a beautiful coat, weighing about 11 kg, who until recently knew only life on a chain and in a kennel. He was taken in an intervention and is now safe, slowly learning to live a normal life by the side of a human. He now most needs his own home and someone who will show him that he can be loved. Merlin is an extremely nice, cheerful and sociable dog. He loves people, is friendly, gentle and very eager for closeness. He most enjoys spending time close to his owner, he likes to sleep in bed, but he also feels comfortable on his own bed. At home, he behaves very well. He does not destroy, keeps clean and does not vocalize when left alone, especially if he has the company of other dogs. He will best fit in a moderately active or active family. He can live with children over seven years old who can respect animals. Merlin is small, young at heart and very open to contact with humans. He is non-aggressive, learns quickly and functions well in everyday domestic life. He gets along with small dogs and cats, but tends to avoid large dogs. On walks, he stays close to the owner and does not have a tendency to wander off. It is worth knowing that he can squeeze through very small spaces and is extremely clever. He is also a good acrobat, so fences or barriers do not pose a big obstacle for him. He sometimes tends to be stubborn and sometimes prefers to implement his own ideas rather than respond to a call. He does not like visits to the vet and does not like coercion. Merlin is healthy, has normal test results, is vaccinated against rabies and infectious diseases, dewormed, protected against parasites and neutered. This is a dog that loves humans very much and now needs someone who will love him and give him a real home. Merlin lives in a temporary home in the Warsaw area. If you want to meet him and give him a new life, fill out the adoption form. Pre-adoption questionnaire - here Terms and conditions of adoption - here Personal data processing clause - here

Merlin to niezwykle miły, wesoły i kontaktowy pies. Merlin mieszka w domu tymczasowym w okolicach Warszawy. About Merlin

What life with Merlin looks like

Merlin is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Psa Karmela in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Merlin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Merlin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psa Karmela handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Merlin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Merlin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psa Karmela will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Merlin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Merlin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psa Karmela early rather than rehoming privately; they know Merlin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
