Mia

Female · Adult · 7 years

In my dreams I see you, yes you. You stand there for me… and look at me, looking into my still shining eyes and seeing me. As I am. Beside my despair, you also see my uniqueness and my longing. You have found me. "My" Mia, you call me affectionately and my heart now belongs to you. Every night I dream of you, which gives me hope for a life outside of my room here at the animal shelter. I know where I am. There, where a new life can begin. Where transport boxes with happy people leave this premises. I have seen it myself too often and experienced it once. A place of hope, perhaps, because I am now one of the very special residents. I currently bite uncontrollably and do not differentiate between people or fellow animals. Don't misunderstand me, I like people. Especially this one from my dreams. I want to be allowed to jump over fields and meadows again and to decide for myself when and why something is not allowed. In every respect. "My Mia"... I hear your voice, you wink at me affectionately and finally see the shine in my eyes – which slowly comes to the surface. By giving a happy cat like me the much-needed hope, you give me the chance. Have courage, I am waiting for you. Could you imagine giving a unlucky Mia a new home? Then to the next step:

In jeglicher Hinsicht. About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a adult cat waiting at Tierheim Ingolstadt in Ingolstadt.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ingolstadt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ingolstadt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ingolstadt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
